About
The People Behind Wynthor
Wynthor Group, LLC is a Southwest Washington general contractor specializing in kitchen remodels, home additions, whole-home renovations, aging-in-place remodeling, and outdoor living spaces for homeowners throughout Clark, Cowlitz, and Lewis Counties.
Founded by Anna "Cate" Winters and Rob Howard, Wynthor was built on a simple belief: the homes we create should support the way people actually live.
The best homes are not simply beautiful; they are thoughtful, durable, and designed around the people who use them every day.
We are a small, founder-led company that values craftsmanship, communication, and intentional design. Every project receives direct involvement from the people whose names are on the company because we believe exceptional remodeling begins long before construction starts. It begins with listening.
Cate Winters
Founder & CEO
Cate spent more than two decades in nursing, healthcare leadership, disability access, quality oversight, and education. She built her career in environments where details, documentation, and follow-through matters. The lessons she learned there continue to shape the way Wynthor operates today: listen carefully, anticipate challenges before they become problems, and never lose sight of the people at the center of the project.
-
Over the years, Cate renovated multiple homes from the studs out, discovering a passion for transforming spaces that function better, feel better, and support the lives unfolding within them. From complete kitchen rebuilds to historic trim restoration, custom millwork, live-edge cabinetry, tile installation, and design planning, she developed a hands-on understanding of what it takes to bring a vision to life.
Today, Cate leads company strategy, client experience, design collaboration, and project planning. She loves helping homeowners work through the countless decisions that shape a successful remodel, balancing aesthetics, function, budget, and long-term value. Her favorite part of the process is uncovering what a family truly needs from their home and helping create a solution that feels both beautiful and practical.
Cate also brings specialized knowledge in accessibility, aging-in-place design, and disability-aware remodeling. Her healthcare background provides a unique perspective on how thoughtful design can improve independence, comfort, safety, and quality of life while maintaining the character and beauty of a home. Whether planning wider circulation paths, improving accessibility, creating sensory-considerate spaces, or designing for future mobility needs, she believes great design should serve every stage of life.

Our Values
What We Stand For
Mastery
Craft that comes from caring enough to get it right. The visible work matters. The invisible work matters more. We listen carefully, clarify thoroughly, and execute precisely. Mastery is about caring enough to get it right.
Honor
The contract is the floor of what we owe you. We communicate honestly, own mistakes quickly, and follow through on what we said we’d do. If something gets harder than we planned, you’ll hear it from us before you hear it from the inspector. If we get something wrong, we fix it. The contract is the floor of what we owe you, not the ceiling.
Stewardship
Your investment is in our keeping. A remodel is a significant investment, and the way we handle your money should match the care we take with your home. Transparent estimates, written change orders, weekly updates, no surprises buried in the final invoice. Your investment is in our keeping for the duration of the project. We treat it that way.
Intentionality
Nothing here by accident. Every detail in your project should serve a purpose — every cabinet pull chosen for how it feels in your hand, every light placed where it’ll actually be used, every tile chosen with the grout line in mind. Nothing in a Wynthor project is there by accident or because it was the easiest spec. The work of remodeling is the work of considered decisions, made together.
